Recently, the 2024 Undergraduate Short-Term Overseas Exchange Program Sharing Session was held at HMU’s Zhongshan Campus. Wu Yuming, Deputy Secretary of the HMU Party Committee, attended the event, along with representatives from relevant departments and schools.

At the meeting, the head of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division summarized the 2024 undergraduate short-term overseas exchange programs. Subsequently, faculty and student representatives who participated in exchange programs at Kagawa University, Matsumoto Dental University, and Oita University (Japan); Nanyang Technological University (Singapore); the University of Auckland (New Zealand); the University of Galway (Ireland); and Ghent University (Belgium) shared their experiences and gains in clinical rotations, academic studies, and cultural exchanges. Deputy Secretary Wu Yuming and representatives from relevant departments presented certificates to student recipients of the "Spring Bud Program" scholarship.

On behalf of the university Committee, Wu Yuming congratulated the scholarship recipients, commended their performance during their overseas exchanges, and expressed gratitude to the schools and departments that supported the programs. She emphasized that HMU is committed to fostering an internationalized educational environment by providing exchange and internship platforms, enhancing foreign language teaching and training, and offering cross-cultural communication courses—all aimed at cultivating students' global competence and competitiveness in international exchanges and cooperation. She also shared expectations for students participating in overseas programs: first, to demonstrate confidence and showcase the spirit of Chinese youth in the new era; second, to develop independence in both life and academics; and third, to cherish opportunities and express gratitude while improving cross-cultural communication skills and overall competence, serving as ambassadors of HMU, builders of university friendships, and inheritors of HMU’s spirit.

In recent years, the university Committee has placed high importance on international exchanges, continuously exploring new pathways for global education and expanding international collaborations. Student overseas exchange programs have been a key avenue for innovating talent cultivation models. Moving forward, HMU will further promote student exchange initiatives, supporting more students in engaging in international academic experiences.
